Hey there,
Jensen views therapy as a process moving toward holistic wellbeing of the mind, body, and soul. Jensen views therapy as a process of uncovering the story, or narratives, of our lives and how our interpretations influence our thoughts, actions, and relationships. To be part of a person’s therapeutic journey is the greatest honor for Jensen, and she is humbled by the opportunity to bear witness to both sorrow and joy in her clients’ lives. Jensen firmly believes that there is always hope, and meaningful change is possible. She is excited to partner with clients as they take steps toward health, healing, and growth.
Jensen graduated from Wheaton College in Chicago, earning a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with advanced certification in Trauma Therapy. Before starting at Cultivate Counseling Group, Jensen had experience working at a behavioral hospital and intensive outpatient setting. Jensen is excited about working with clients who are willing to show up honestly and openly, and ready to take steps toward their goals. Jensen deeply believes in creating a space for clients to process freely and experience genuine care through the therapeutic relationship. She thinks that developing a safe space for her clients is one of the most important parts of her job, and takes seriously the privilege that it is to sit with individuals and their stories!
Jensen’s area of specialty include children & adolescents, trauma, C/PTSD, sexual abuse, mood & anxiety disorders, suicidal thoughts / self-injurious behaviors, behavioral issues, grief and loss, sexuality & gender concerns, women’s issues, and relational problems. Jensen uses a variety of treatment approaches depending on the needs of her clients. She is trained and experienced in child-centered play therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Written Exposure Therapy for trauma.
